Manchester Trauma Hosts Successful Six Day Trauma Course
28 Mar 2024
The Manchester Surgical Skills and Simulation Centre (MSSSC) recently concluded an impressive feat – one of the centre’s longest courses to date! Over a six day period, the centre welcomed more than 120 delegates, guided by a dedicated team of 50 faculty members and supported by 15 industry representatives.
The comprehensive curriculum explored various areas of trauma surgery, encompassing lower limb, pelvis, foot and ankle, High Acuity, Low Occurrence (HALO), upper limb, and hand surgery.
A Commitment to Excellence
Mr. Joe Alsousou, Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at MFT and the course convenor, expressed his sincere gratitude to all those who played a critical role in the success of the cadaveric courses. Mr Alsousou personally thanked Andrea, Hayley, Millie, Sally, and Simon for their unwavering dedication throughout the six days, and Mr. Alsousou acknowledged that without their tireless efforts, the course would not have been possible.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Despite the extended duration, the collective spirit and commitment of everyone involved ensured the course’s resounding success. Hayley Mullen, the course lead, perfectly captured the essence of the achievement: “This project truly embodied the power of teamwork. I’m incredibly proud of what we accomplished together, and the overwhelmingly positive feedback from delegates and faculty reinforces the value of our centre and its role in surgical education at MFT.”
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone involved in making this six-day Trauma course such a memorable and enriching experience for both faculty and delegates. The Manchester Surgical Skills and Simulation Centre continues to set the bar high for surgical training and education.
